REQUIREMENTS NEEDED BEFORE GRANTING OF A TENANCY
- Copy of Identification i.e. National ID, Passport, Driving license, Voters card (any can do)
- Employment ID
- Letter of reference from previous landlord or former village Local Council
- Passport size photograph
- An administration fees of Ugx 200,000 ( 1 yr)
Note: Requirements 1, 3, 4 & 5 are a must. However 2&3 can be swapped but as a must one needs to be provided.
Others:-
- Filling in of a tenancy application form.
- Payment of the entire required rent amount i.e. minimum 3 month’s rent in advance.
- Payment of security deposit i.e. 1 month’s equivalent of the rent amount or more depending on tenant’s circumstances.
The procedure:-
For as long as the above are provided and that there is no substantial query about one’s application, the following shall follow;
- All utility bills shall be paid up to zero balance before you occupy our premises.
- An inventory check will be carried along with the intending tenant to ascertain the state of the property before and after the tenancy.
- A move in receipt shall be provided, followed with the signing of the tenancy agreement.
- The tenant shall then be at liberty to occupy the property at their convenience.
Note: Jerome Richards is mandated to carry out an inspection at a date they will fix (normally after 6months) to ensure that you are complying with your tenancy obligations and in situations where you want to renew your tenancy, a further inspection is done.
